CSU Ploiesti continued its run atop the Romanian League table after edging U Mobitelco Cluj 78-79 at the end of a thrilling match. The hosts led 60-54 at the end of the third quarter, but the defending champs kept it close and grabbed the win on an Arvydas Cepulis bucket from downtown to improve their record to 14-1. D'Angelo Alexander had 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead Ploiesti, Reggie Elliott and Cepulis added 15 points apiece, while Zoran Krstanovic had 25 for Cluj. In other games, second placed CSU Atlassib Sibiu thrashed BC Targoviste 115-76, Dinamo Bucharest downed BC Ramnicu Vlacea 62-52, Rapid Bucharest topped CSU Brasov 80-74, ELBA Timisoara edged BC MUres 72-71 and CS Otopeni destroyed Pitesti 118-88 and GAZ Metan Media defeated CSM Leonardo Oradea 69-80.
