 Anwil Wloclawek took advantage of Prokom Trefl’s day off to take sole possession of the Polish League. Lukasz Koszarek recorded 18 points, 7 assists and 4 steals to lead Anwil to 90-83 home win over Polonia Warsaw, which improved the team’s record to 13-2 – one victory more than the idle defending champs. Poland’s other two ULEB Cup participants, Asco Slask Wroclaw and PGE Turow Zgorzelec, also won their respective games. Asco Slask survived a tough battle on the road over AZS Koszalin 73-80 behind 16 points from Dominik Tomczyk, while Thomas Kelati scored 22 points in Turow’s 79-68 victory over Czarni Slupsk. In other games, Atlas Stal Ostrow beat Gornik Walbrzych 84-76 to snap a four-game losing streak as Tony Adams scored a season-high 19 points to lead five scorers in double figures. Polpharma edged Kotwica Kolobrzeg 93-89 as Brian Lubeck scored 19 points and David Copeland added 18. Chris Daniels recorded a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough for Kotwica. Bank BPS Basket Kwidzyn destroyed Polpak Swiecie 91-60 as Eric Barkley finished with 23 points. Nikola Lepojevic had 16 for the guests.

Anwil had a tough battle in the first half, but pulled away in the second half to take the win and climb to first place. Alex Dunn scored 21 points for Anwil and Zeljko Zagorac, Andrzej Pluta and Alan Daniels finished with 10 points apiece. Nate Richardson scored 24 for Polonia, which lost its seventh game in a row. Asco Slask survived a tough battle on the road over AZS Koszalin 73-80 behind 16 points from Dominik Tomczyk. Asco Slask was trailing by 6 with under five minutes remaining, but closed it with a 2-15 run. Dawan Robinson added 15, Oliver Stevic 13 and Bartosz Diduszko 11 for the winners. AZS’s D.J. Thomson led all scorers with 20, but the hosts were outrebounded 22-37. Turow controlled the game for most of the evening and finally beat struggling Czarni Slupsk 79-68. Kelati had 4 triples on his way to 22 points, David Logan added 15 and Dragisa Drobnjak posted 14 points and 7 rebounds. Tarmo Kikerpill had 21 for Czarni.
