Leon Rodgers - Artland DragonsVictories for the top five teams in the German League standings over the weekend kept the status quo atop the table with Alba Berlin and Artland Dragons sharing first place with 15-4 records. Berlin recorded a 64-77 road win at LTi Giessen 46ers thanks to 24 points and 5 assists from Bobby Brown, while Artland torched struggling Koln 99ers 95-72 in a matchup of two teams still alive in the ULEB Cup Last 32. E.J. Rowland scored 17 off the bench to pace the Dragons. Third placed Bayer Giants Leverkusen remained just one game back after topping BG 74 Gottingen 90-85 as Nate Fox posted 26 points and 12 rebounds, while Telekom Baskets Bonn kept an eye on the pack as it downed Science City Jena 88-79. Winsome Frazier recorded 26 points, 8 rebounds and 5 steals for Bonn. Defending champion Brose Baskets Bamberg sits in fifth place with two games at hand after dismissing digibu Baskets 84-60 as Demond Greene led six Bamberg scorers in double figures with 17 points. EnBW Ludwigsburg took care of business against ratiopharm Ulm 95-84 thanks to Brandon Woudstra’s 24 points, Deutsche Bank Skyliners bested EWE Baskets Oldenburg 91-77 behind 22 points from Derrick Allen and Eisbaren Bremerhaven edged Walter Tigers Tubingen on the road 75-78 as Nate Funk and Zygimantas Jonusas scored 19 each.

Bobby Brown scored 24 points and dished 5 assists to lead Berlin, which started strong with a 12-21 first period and remained in control the rest of the way. Julius Jenkins added 16 points and 5 assists and Patrick Femerling scored 10. Newcomers Aleksandar Nadjfeji and Immanuel McElroy scored 8 and 4 points, respectively, in their Berlin debuts. The Artland Dragons torched the struggling Koln 99ers 95-72 in a matchup of two teams still alive in the ULEB Cup Last 32. Koln actually led 40-41 at halftime, but the Dragins ended the 99ers’ hopes with a 30-12 third period. Koln’s biggest problem was its 16 turnovers, while Artland shot 53.3% from downtown. E.J. Rowland led five Artland scorers in double figures with 17 points off the bench. Darius Hall added 16 points, Leon Rodgers and Terrance Thomas scored 14 each and Adam Chubb had 11. Yassin Idbihi led Koln with a season-high 21 points, Marko Keselj scored 13, Derek Raivio had 11 points and 6 assists and teenager Philipp Schwethelm had 10 for the second straight game.

Defending champion Brose Baskets Bamberg sits in fifth place with two games at hand after dismissing digibu Baskets 84-60 as Demond Greene led six Bamberg scorers in double figures with 17 points. Bamberg made it look easy by taking a 27-18 lead after 10 minutes and increasing it to 49-30 by halftime, securing the outcome early. Predrag Suput added 13 points, Steffen Hamann scored 12 and dished 7 assists, Ademola Okulaja finished with 11 points and Robert Garrett and newcomer Jared Reiner posted 10 each. Tim Black led digibu with 23. Deutsche Bank Skyliners bested EWE Baskets Oldenburg 91-77 behind 22 points from Derrick Allen. The Skyliners outscored Oldenburg 53-35 in the first half and coasted the rest of the way. Pascal Roller scored 19, Jimmy McKinney added 15 Ilian Evitmov 13 and Koko Archibong had 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Ricky Paulding netted 6 triples en route to a season-high 30 points for Oldenburg. EnBW Ludwigsburg took care of business against ratiopharm Ulm 95-84 thanks to Brandon Woudstra's 24 points. Coleman Collins added 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 blocked shots, Nate Harris and Ronald Ross scored 14 each and Michel Ferreira do Nascimento had 11 for Ludwigsburg. Jeff Gibbs finished with 20 points and 16 boards for Ulm.
