Nothing changed after the domestic cups break in the Adriatic League regular season, as Partizan Igokea leads the standings with a 19-2 record by edging archrivals Red Star 81-88 in Pionir Arena on Sunday morning. Milt Palacio led 6 Partizan players in double digits with 24 points. Omar Cook had 29 points to lead Red Star. Partizan now has a two-game gap over everyone else, as FMP edged Zadar 78-84 on the road on Saturday. FMP improved to 11-10 while Zadar dropped to 17-4 and saw its 14-game winning streak come to an end. Zoran Erceg paced the winners with 22 points. Zadar rallied from a 20-point deficit to get a 65-57 margin after 30 minutes, but FMP bounced back to escape with a win. Hemofarm Stada now ties for the third place at 13-8 by beating Zagreb 73-66 in Vrsac on Saturday behind 29 points from Rawle Marshall. Meanwhile, Union Olimpija improved to 12-9 by thrashing Vojvodina Srbijagas 72-58 in Ljubljana on Saturday with 23 points from Jasmin Hukic. Cibona moved up to 12-9 by downing Split 88-75 in Zagreb on Saturday while Buducnost survived a tough test and improved to 12-9 by edging Siroki Prima pivo 70-64 in Podgorica on Friday. In other games, Helios Domzale downed Geoplin Slovan 82-74.
Partizan survived a tough test and improved to 19-2 atop the standings by edging archrivals Red Star 81-88 in Pionir Arena on Sunday morning. Palacio led 6 Partizan players in double digits with 24 points. Uros Tripkovic added 14, Dusan Kecman had 13 while Novica Velickovic, Nikola Pekovic and Milenko Tepic each got 10 for the winners. Velickovic added 11 rebounds for a double-double. Cook led Red Star with 29 points, Mladjen Sljivancanin added 18 while Nenad Misanovic had 14 for the hosts. Cook had 5 points in a 7-0 run that he capped with a triple for a 22-21 Red Star lead after 10 minutes. Cook got some help from Sljivancanin to keep Red Star in the game, 39-39, at halftime and then again, 55-55, after 30 minutes. Red Star did not lead in the fourth quarter, but a ttrople by Sljivancanin brought the hosts within 77-79. Tripkovic answered from downtown while Palacio allowed Partizan to get an important win. Hemofarm Stada now ties for the third place at 13-8 by beating Zagreb 73-66 in Vrsac on Saturday. Marshall led the winners with 29 points while Nebojsa Joksimovic added 14 for Hemofarm, that trailed 14-22 after 10 minutes. Marshall had 18 points in the second quarter to give Hemofarm a 40-32 lead. Hemofarm opened the third quarter with a 13-0 run that Joksimovic capped with a triple and cruised to a big road win. Union Olimpija improved to 12-9 by thrashing Vojvodina Srbijagas 72-58 in Ljubljana on Saturday. Hukic led the winners with 23 points. Hasan Rizvic added 14, Goran Dragic had 12 while Miha Zupan got 10 for Olimpija, that laready led 41-25 at halftime and did not find much trouble to cruise to a well-deserved win.
FMP showed its power by edging Zadar 78-84 on the road on Saturday. FMP improved to 11-10 while Zadar dropped to 17-4 and saw its 14-game winning streak come to an end. Zoran Erceg paced the winners with 22 points. Bojan Krstovic added 18, Mladen Jeremic got 14 while Dragan Labovic had 12 for FMP. Shammel Stallworth had 20 points for Zadar, Todor Gecevski posted a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds, Corey Brewer added 12 points while Pankracije Barac got 11 for the hosts. Erceg fired in 4 triples in the opening 6 minutes, leading a game-breaking 1-22 run that allowed FMP to get a 11-31 margin at the end of the first quarter. Zadar got within 35-44 at halftime and an outstanding Stallworth allowed the hosts to complete their comeback, 58-55, late in the third quarter. Zadar got a 65-57 margin after 30 minutes but FMP was not done. Erceg, Labovic and Krstovic brought the guests back in the game while Nemanja Protic followed a triple with free throws to seal the outcome, 73-79, in the final minute. Cibona moved up to 12-9 by downing Split 88-75 in Zagreb on Saturday. Damir Mulaomerovic led the way for Cibona with 21 points. Luksa Andric and Franko Kastropil each added 13, Vedran Princ had 11 while Chris Warren got 10 for the winners, that led 57-56 late in the third quarter. Kastropil and Mulaomerovic led a 15-1 run that broke the game open, 72-57, and allowed Cibona to cruise to a big win. Buducnost survived a tough test and improved to 12-9 by edging Siroki Prima pivo 70-64 in Podgorica on Friday. Vladislav Dragojlovic led the winners with 15 points, Vladimir Dasic added 11 while Ivan Maras and Nemanja Gordic each had 10 for Buducnost, that led 63-62 with 2 minutes to go. Dragojlovic and Dasic sealed the outcome from the foul line.
