Zalgiris and Lietuvos Rytas keep tying atop the Baltic League standings, each with a 14-1 record. Zalgiris registered back-to-back home wins in a very successful weekend. On Saturday, Zalgiris thrashed Siauliai 95-74 in Kaunas behind 19 points from Arturas Milaknis. Damir Markota added 16, Goran Jurak had 14 while Dainius Salenga got 13 for Zalgiris, that led 28-17 after 10 minutes and had already sealed the outcome, 70-51, at the end of the third quarter. Virgilijus Praskevicius led Siauliai with 23 points, Donatas Zavackas added 12, Arturas Masiulis had 11 while Antonio Grant and Aurimas Kieza each got 10. On Sunday, Zalgiris edged Neptunas 104-98 at home. Jonas Maciulis paced the winners with 18 points, Paulius Jankunas added 17, Dejuan Collins had 16, Markota 13, Marcus Brown 11 and Jurak 10. Zalgiris led all the way in the second half but Neptunas got within 94-93 with less than 2 minutes to go. Collins, Jankunas and Maciulis stepped up to make Zalgiris add a big win. Lietuvos Rytas also had to battle hard to edge Ventspils 88-86 in Vilnius on Saturday. Kenan Bajramovic led the way for L. Rytas with 19 points, Marijonas Petravicius added 15 while Jackson Vroman and Andrius Slezas each had 13 for the winners. Jimmy Baxter had 18 points for Ventspils, Akselis Vairogs added 15, Justin Love 14, Uvis Helmanis 13 and Raimons Gabrans 10. It all came down to the final seconds, as Baxter dunked it for a 85-84 Ventspils deficit with 25 seconds to go. Slezas sealed the outcome with a crucial triple with 8 seconds remaining. ASK Riga improved to 11-5 by downing Neptunas 79-91 on the road on Saturday. A.J. Bramlett led the winners with 24 points, Curtis Millage added 16 while Sandis Valters had 13 in an easy road win for ASK, that led 37-51 at halftime and did not find much trouble to control the game after the break. BC Kalev improved to 5-8 by thrashing archrivals Tartu Rock 85-64 in Tallinn on Saturday. Valmo Kriisa led the way for Kalev with 19 points, Mateo Kedzo and Howard Frier each added 13 while Tanel Sokk got 10 for Kalev. In other games, Barons / LMT thrashed Valmiera 75-97 behind 20 points from Joao Batista.
