Ovarense Aerosoles stayed unstoppable atop the Portuguese League standings and improved to 15-1 by beating Casino Figueira Ginasio 76-68 in Ovar on Saturday. Graham Brown led the winners with 15 points. Nuno Manarte added 13 while Joao Soares had 10 for Ovarense, that trailed 32-33 at halftime. A 21-3 run that Fernando Neves capped with a fast break basket allowed Ovarense to get a 60-48 margin after three quarters. Ginasio got within 73-68 with 11 seconds to go, but Neves and Andre Pinto sealed the outcome from the foul line. Porto Ferpinta improved to 13-3 and remained second by beating Vagos 78-65 at home on Sunday. Meanwhile, Barreirense provided the most surprising result this week by beating Lusitania Angra Patrimonio Mundial 70-84 on the road on Saturday. Darrell Harris paced the winners with 24 points while E.J. Drayton added 22. Last but not least, CAB Madeira topped Belenenses Hyundai Lusifor 78-83 behind 28 points on 5-for-7 triples from Monty Scott.
