Polish League, Regular Season, Game 21: February 23-24, 2008
Milan Gurovic - Prokom Trefl Prokom Trefl Sopot remains the leader in the Polish League after easily beating Polpharma Starogard Gdanski 79-60 over the weekend, while second placed Anwil Wloclawek slipped further back by losing its fourth straight game. Anwil lost on the road at Basket Kwidzyn 100-97 to slip to 13-6 – two wins less than Prokom. Jovo Stanojevic and Milan Gurovic both recorded double-doubles to lead Prokom, while Erick Barkley netted 29 points to pace Kwidzyn to its ninth victory. ASCO Slask Wroclaw continued its chase to the top of the league by beating Kotwica Kolobrzeg 78-74 behind 22 points from Torrell Martin. Polpak Swiecie beat Atlas Stal Ostrow 77-71 thanks to Erick Hicks’s double-double and Energa Czarni Slupsk edged SPEC Polonia Warszawa 67-66 as Omar Barlett scored 21, while the game between AZS Koszalin and PGE Turow Zgorzelec was postponed.

Prokom Trefl Sopot had no problems beating Polpharma Starogard Gdanski 79-60 over the weekend. The defending Polish champion led from start to finish behind a balanced scoring effort that saw Jovo Stanojevic and Milan Gurovic post double-doubles. Stanojevic finished with 23 points and 11 rebounds, while Milan Gurovic posted 14 points and 13 rebounds. Simonas Serapinas added 15 points, Filip Dylewicz 12 and Donatas Slanina had 10 points and 7 assists. Donald Copeland scored 16, Tony Wedden added 13 and Kamil Zakrzewski 11 for Polpharma.

Anwil remains in crisis mode after dropping its fourth straight game. This time Anwil fell 100-97 at Basket Kwidzyn. Anwil had chances to win, but in the last seconds Kwidzyn’s players made their free throws to earn the victory. Erick Barkley was the top scorer for Kwidzyn with 29 points and Mujo Tuljkovic and Dariusz Puncewicz added 15 apiece. Lukasz Koszarek and Zeljko Zagorac paced Anwil with 20, Alex Dunn and Alan Daniels added 14 and Andrzej Pluta 12. ASCO Slask Wroclaw continued its chase to the top of the league by beating Kotwica Kolobrzeg 78-74 behind 22 points from Torrell Martin. Bartosz Diduszko and Martin hit some clutch triples down the stretch to wrap up the win. Jared Homan added 14 for Slask. Tomasz Cielebak scored 19 points in defeat.
