The Newcastle Eagles added another win to their record on Friday by downing the Marshall MK Lions 87-78. Lynard Stewart led the way with 24 points and Olu Babalola added 22 for the Eagles, who improved to 19-3 in the British League. Kularoos Plymouth Raiders overtook idle Guildford Heat for second place after downing last placed Team Birmingham Panthers 82-64. Gavin Love paced the Raiders with 17 points. The Raiders now boast an 18-7 mark. The Heat take on the Eagles on Sunday in the BBL Trophy Final. In other games, the Everton Tigers edged Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders 101-99 as Richard Midgley scored 24 points, including some cluth free throws down the stretch. The Sheffield Sharks downed BiG Storage Cheshire Jets 89-81 as Justice Graham scored 23 and the Worcester Wolves outgunned SAMG Verve Scottish Rocks 108-92 thanks to 27 points from James Life and a Chuck Evans triple-double of 19 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.
