CSKA Moscow showed its power and stayed atop the Russian League standings with a 18-1 record by overwhelming Universitet Surgut 101-52 in the Russian capital on Saturday. Nikos Zisis led the winners with 19 points. Victor Khryapa and David Andersen each added 15, Ramunas Siskauskas and Zakhar Pashutin had 14 apiece while Theo Papaloukas got 11 for CSKA, that had 32-for-41 two-pointers. CSKA led 62-19 at halftime and sealed the outcome long before the final buzzer. Khimki stayed second at 17-2 by edging Unics Kazan 77-71 at home also on Saturday. Maciej Lampe paced the winners with 30 points on 8-for-11 two-pointers, 8-for-9 free throws and 9 rebounds. Vitaliy Fridzon had 15 points, Anton Ponkrashov 14 and Clay Tucker 10 for Khimki. Darjus Lavrinovic had 17 points for Unics, that dropped to 12-7. Sergei Chikalkin added 16 while Tariq Kirksay got 12 for the guests, who led 38-42 at halftime. Fridzon allowed Khimki to regain the lead, 47-46, midway through the third quarter. An outstanding Lampe kept Khimki ahead since that moment while a driving layup by Ponkrashov sealed the outcome in the final minute. Triumph Lyubertsy bounced back from its ULEB Cup elimination by edging Lokomotiv Rostov 97-90 at home on Saturday behind 21 points from Terrell Lyday. Kristaps Valters added 16, Fedor Likholitov had 15, Sergei Toporov 13, Egor Vyaltsev 12 and Fedor Dmitriev 11 for Triumph, that trailed 78-81 with 6 minutes to go. Lyday and an outstanding Valters allowed Triumph to improve to 14-5. In other games, Spartak Primorje downed Spartak St. Petersburg 74-91 on Saturday while SibirTelekom beat Universitet 78-75 on Monday but then registered a 68-78 home loss against Ural Great on Friday.
