Felipe Reyes - Real Madrid Real Madrid got closer to win the Spanish League regular season and sent a message that echoed all around the country by thrashing Grupo Capitol Valladolid 114-80 in the Spanish capital on Sunday. Felipe Reyes paced the winners with 26 points on 9-for-9 two-pointers and 1-for-1 triples in just 14 minutes. Madrid is first at 19-4 while DKV Joventut is second at 17-6. Joventut topped iurbentia Bilbao Basket 75-84 on the road on Saturday behind 18 points from Ricky Rubio. Tau Ceramica and AXA FC Barcelona tie for third place at 16-7. Tau Ceramica moved up to 16-7 and keeps tying for third place by topping ViveMenorca 88-85 in Vitoria on Sunday. Simas Jasaitis paced the winners with 16 points, including a critical triple in the final minute. Meanwhile, Barcelona downed Akasvayu Girona 78-58 at home on Sunday. Pamesa Valencia improved to 14-9 by thrashing MMT Estudiantes 73-53 at home on Saturday while Unicaja also moved up to 14-9 by edging C.B. Granada 63-61 in Malaga on Sunday behind 13 points each from Daniel Santiago and Boniface Ndong. Kalise Gran Canaria dropped to 10-13 due to a 80-71 road loss against Polaris World CB Murcia. In other games, Cajasol edged Grupo Begar Leon 76-85 while Ricoh Manresa bested Alta Gestion Fuenlabrada 85-73.

Demond Mallet added 15, Rudy Fernandez had 14 while Pau Ribas got 12 for Joventut, that led 29-37 at halftime. Mallet and Rubio allowed Joventut to extend its margin to 55-65 after 30 minutes while a fast break layup by Jan Jagla sealed the outcome, 59-75, minutes before the final buzzer. Tau Ceramica moved up to 16-7 and keeps tying for third place by topping ViveMenorca 88-85 in Vitoria on Sunday. Jasaitis paced the winners with 16 points. Tiago Splitter added 15, Pablo Prigioni and Sergi Vidal each had 14, Mirza Teletovic got 13 and Zoran Planinic 10 for Tau, that trailed 80-81 with a minute to go. Jasaitis stroke from downtown while Teletovic and Prigioni added free throws for a 86-83 Tau edge. Mario Stojic made foul shots for ViveMenorca with 7 seconds remaining, Prigioni did the same for Tau while Stojic missed a three-point shot at the buzzer.

AXA FC Barcelona moved up to 16-7 by thrashing Akasvayu Girona 78-58 at home on Sunday. Alex Acker paced the winners with 12 points. Fran Vazquez added 11 while Roger Grimau had 10 for Barcelona. Former Barcelona players Marc Gasol and Victor Sada each had 15 points for Akasvayu, that dropped to 12-11. Barcelona led 54-48 after 30 minutes but Ersan Ilyasoba led a 12-0 run that broke the game open, 71-53, with less than 4 minutes to go. Unicaja improved to 14-9 by edging C.B. Granada 63-61 in Malaga on Sunday. Santiago and Ndong paced the winners each with 13 points while Berni Rodriguez added 10 for Unicaja, that did not trail in the last three quarters. Granada got within 59-57 with under a minute remaining, but Santiago dunked it and soon added free throws to seal the outcome, 63-58, in the final seconds. Pamesa Valencia improved to 14-9 by thrashing MMT Estudiantes 73-53 at home on Saturday. Dejan Milojevic led the way for Pamesa with 13 points. Ruben Garces added 12 while Mindaugas Timinskas and Shammond Williams each had 10 in an easy home win for Pamesa, that led 31-26 at halftime but boosted its margin to 56-37 after 30 minutes behind an unstoppable Milojevic to seal the outcome long before the final buzzer. Kalise Gran Canaria dropped to 10-13 due to a 80-71 road loss against Polaris World CB Murcia. Fede Kammerichs led the winners with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Carl English had 17 points for Gran Canaria while Nick Caner-Medley added 10 for the guests, that led 64-66 midway through the fourth quarter. Lou Roe led a 13-0 run that sealed the outcome down the stretch.
