Polish League, Regular Season, Game 22: March 5, 2008
David Logan - PGE Turow PGE Turow Zgorzelec beat Prokom Trefl Sopot 88-79 in the highlighted game in Wednesday's midweek round in the Polish league. Despite the loss, Prokom remains in first place with a 15-5 record, but now second-placed Turow has closed within one victory of the top spot. Turow built a 22-point lead in the third quarter and coasted to victory behind David Logan’s 26 points. Meanwhile the freefall of third placed Anwil Wloclawek continued as it lost its fifth straight, 73-82, to AZS Koszalin. Phil Goss scored 23 and DJ Thompson had 22 points for AZS Koszalin. Gornik Walbrzych bested ASCO Slask Wroclaw 79-65. The visitors cut the gap to 68-61, but in last minutes Gornik`s players were efficient from free-throw line. Jeremy Montgomery scored 20 points to lead the winners. In other games, Polpharma beat Czarni 88-70 as Donald Copeland scored 28 points and Ed Cota netted 16 to lead Atlas Stal ober Basket Kwidzyn 94-85.

PGE Turow Zgorzelec beat Prokom Trefl Sopot 88-79 in the highlighted game in Wednesday's midweek round in the Polish league. The game was even throughput most of the first half, before Turow took a 35-28 halftime lead. Then Turow's strong defense and well executed fast breaks increased the margin to 66-43 en route to a big win. In the fourth quarter, Prokom cut the gap a little thanks the scoring of Milan Gurovic, but Turow has did not have any problems securing the victory. David Logan led the way with 26 points including 5 triples, Thomas Kelati added 16 and Iwo Kitzinger had 9. Gurovic scored 24 points to lead Prokom and Igor Milicic added 10. Anwil Wloclawek remains in crisis as head coach Ales Pipan’s side lost its fifth game in a row. This time Anwil went down at home to AZS Koszalin 73-82. Phil Goss scored 23 and DJ Thompson had 22 points for AZS Koszalin. Lukasz Koszarek posted 15 points for Anwil and Zeljko Zagorac and Bartlomiej Woloszyn recorded double-doubles. Zagorac had 13 points and 11 rebounds and Woloszyn finished with 12 and 10 rebounds. Next up for Anwil is a visit to Prokom. Gornik Walbrzych bested ASCO Slask Wroclaw 79-65.
