CEZ Basket Nymburk’s incredible run in the Czech League reached 29 consecutive wins on Wednesday with a 107-49 dismantling of USK Praha. The defending champs improved to 31-1 and opened up a seven-win lead on the two teams tied for second place – BK Prostejov and Geofin Novy Jicin. Ladislav Sokolovsky led seven Nymburk scorers in double figures with 18 points and Radek Necas flirted with a triple-double by posting 12 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Petr Benda and Michal Kremen added 13 points apiece, Pavel Benes scored 11 and Monte Mack and Blake Schlib had 10 each. Lucious Wagner led Praha with 14 in defeat. Prostejov lost sole possession of second place when it lost 107-87 at BK Sadska as Jason Smith netted 29 points and Novy Jicin made up the difference by topping BC Kolin 91-101 behind 23 points from Ondrej Soska. In other games, BK Decin toped NH Ostrava 72-81 led by Kevin Thomas’s 22 points, BK Synthesia Pardubice bested A PLUS OHL ZS Brno BC 74-61 as Sullivan Philips posetd 18 points and 11 rebounds and BK Kondori Liberec beat BK Usti nad Labem 106-79 thanks to 24 points from Jiri Cernosek.
