Nikola Pekovic - Partizan Igokea It came as no surprise, but Partizan Igokea became the 2007-08 Adriatic League regular season champion by topping Union Olimpija 86-81 in Belgrade on Saturday. Partizan improved to 23-2 and clinched first place with two games remaining while Olimpija dropped to 14-10. Nikola Pekovic led the winners with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Zadar dropped to 17-7 but stayed second despite a 74-69 road loss against Vojvodina Srbijagas. Hemofarm Stada stayed third at 15-9 by beating Helios Domzale 64-75 on the road also on Friday behind 17 points from Vladan Vukosavljevic. Olimpija, FMP and Crvena Zvezda tie for fourth place at 14-10. FMP topped Cibona 80-73 in Zeleznik on Saturday with 15 points from Mladen Jeremic. Meanwhile, Tadija Dragicevic had 34 points and 10 rebounds to lead Zvezda to a 77-106 road win against Geoplin Slovan. Buducnost improved to 13-11 by edging Zagreb CO 78-83 on the road on Saturday behind 18 points and 12 rebounds from Vladislav Dragojlovic. In other games, Split CO edged Siroki Prima pivo 84-83 behind 23 points from Marlon Garnett.

Partizan Igokea became the 2007-08 Adriatic League regular season champion by topping Union Olimpija 86-81 in Belgrade on Saturday. Partizan improved to 23-2 while Olimpija dropped to 14-10. Pekovic led the winners with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Uros Tripkovic added 16 points, Novica Velickovic had 15 while Cedomir Vitkovac got 10 for Partizan. Maurice Bailey had 20 points for Olimpija, Marko Milic added 12, Ronell Taylor 11 and Goran Dragic 10 for the guests, that trailed 42-35 at halftime. Pekovic, Tripkovic and free throws by Velickovic boosted the hosts' margin to 66-52. Mirza Begic and Bailey brought Olimpija within 82-79 already in the final seconds, but more foul shots by Milenko Tepic and a final dunk by Pekovic allowed Partizan to seal the outcome. Crvena Zvezda improved to 14-10 by overwhelming Geoplin Slovan 77-106 in Ljubljana on Friday behind 34 points and 10 rebounds from Dragicevic. Steven Markovic added 14, Mirko Kovac had 13 while Elmedin Kicanovic and Boris Bakic each added 11 in an easy road win for Zvezda, that led 39-55 at halftime and never looked back. Hemofarm Stada moved up to 15-9 by beating Helios Domzale 64-75 on the road also on Friday. Vukosavljevic led the winners with 17 points. Miljan Pavkovic added 12 while Stefan Markovic and Milivoje Bozovic each had 11 for Hemofarm, that led 59-61 with 6 minutes to go. Pavkovic took over with three critical triples that helped Hemofarm to seal the outcome.

FMP now ties for fourth place at 14-10 by topping Cibona 80-73 in Zeleznik on Saturday. Jeremic led the winners with 15 points. Zoran Erceg added 14, Nemanja Protic had 13 while Ivan Zigeranovic got 12 for FMP. Barisa Krasic had 13 points for Cibona, that dropped to 13-10. Franko Kastropil and Carey Williams each added 12 while Chris Warren got 11 for the guests. Three-pointer by Vedran Princ and Krasic allowed Cibona to get a 39-49 halftime margin. Erceg and Protic brought FMP back to life after the break while Zigeranovic dunked it to give the hosts a 61-58 edge after 30 minutes. A triple by Marin Rozic got Cibona within 72-70, but Jeremic and Dragan Labovic answered from downtown to seal the outcome in the final 2 minutes. Zadar dropped to 17-7 but stayed second despite a 74-69 road loss against Vojvodina Srbijagas. Vladimir Golubovic paced Vojvodina with 20 points and 14 rebounds. Corey Brewer led Zadar with 15 points. Pankracije Barac added 13, Juby Johnson had 11 and Shammel Stallworth got 10 for the guests, that led 47-61 after 32 minutes. Istvan Nemeth and Golunovic fueled a 23-5 run that allowed Vojvodina to get a 70-66 edge with under a minute to go. Brewer stepped up with a three-point play but Dusan Djordjevic buried 4-for-4 free throws to win it for Vojvodina. Buducnost improved to 13-11 by edging Zagreb 78-83 on the road on Saturday. Dragojlovic led the winners with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Vladimir Micov added 17 points, Nemanja Gordic had 16, Nikola Otasevic got 11 and Vladimir Dasic 10 for Buducnost, that trailed 61-59 after 30 minutes. Dragoljovic and Micov allowed Buducnost to get the lead for good and free throw accuracy helped the guests to seal the outcome.
