The penultimate regular season games in the Swiss League proved crucial in the battle for second place in the table as the Birstal Starwings were edged on the road by Geneva Devlis 93-91, while the Lugano Tigers beat Lausanne 105-90. The two winning teams raised their records to 17-4. Defending champion Olympic Fribourg continues its run atop the standings with an 18-3 record after thrashing Vevey Riviera 90-63 behind 14 points from Pascal Perrier-David. A 22-0 run in the last quarter allowed to the Tigers to go from 76-75 to 98-75 with the duo of Derek Stockalper and Dusan Mladjan combining for 45 points. The Starwings led 49-59 at halftime but Ross Derogatis and Lionel Bommayako pushed the Devils to conquer a playoff berth, contributing, respectively, with 25 and 16 points. Monthey won a run-and-gun meet over Meyrin Grand Sacconex 104-103 after overtime led by 32 points nailed from Valentin Wegmann, while Nyon downed Swiss Cup finalist SAV Vacallo 79-57 as Jordan Collins netted 19 points. On Sunday, Sion Herens edged Boncourt 55-57 on the road as Maurice Latham scored 13 points.
