Leverkusen defeated Telekom Baskets Bonn 95-74, while Artland suffered its worst loss of the season, 83-63 at EWE Baskets Oldenburg. Branimir Longin scored 26 points to pace Oldenburg, which jumped all over the Dragons in the first period en route to the win that ended Artland’s nine-game winning streak. Leverkusen, which got a season-high 27 points from Brant Bailey in its win, and Artland now sit joint atop the table with 19-5 records. Alba Berlin sits in third place with the same amount of wins as the leaders, but one more loss. Berlin recorded its fifth straight on the road, edging TBB Trier 99-100 in overtime as Julius Jenkins led six Berlin scorers in double figures with 24 points. Brose Baskets Bamberg took a step back in the standings, losing 90-94 in overtime at New Yorker Phantoms Braunschweig. Andrew Drevo paced the winners with 21 points. The Deutsche Bank Skyliners beat Walter Tigers Tubingen 69-54 behind Derrick Allen’s 21 points and 9 rebounds, ratiopharm Ulm used a second-period surge to down the Koln 99ers 84-61 and digibu Baskets outshined EnBW Ludwigsburg 93-71 on the strength of Greg Jenkins’s 21 points and 12 rebounds. In other games, Science City Jena ended an eight-game losing streak by beating LTi Giessen 46ers 79-68 as Lavelle Felton scored 18 and Eisbaren Bremerhaven bested BG 74 Gottingen 91-78 thanks to 23 points from Brian Brown.

The Artland Dragons suffered their worst loss of the season, 83-63 at EWE Baskets Oldenburg. Branimir Longin scored 26 points to pace Oldenburg, which jumped all over the Dragons in the first period en route to the win that ended Artland’s nine-game winning streak. The hosts went ahead 30-14 after 10 minutes and never looked back, holding the Dragons to 13 points in the second and fourth periods. Rickey Paulding added 15 points and Jason Gardner scored 13 and dished 6 assists for Oldenburg. Adam Chubb led Artland with 18 points, Leon Rodgers had 17 and Chad Prewitt 10.

Alba Berlin won its fifth straight on the road, edging TBB Trier 99-100 in overtime. The game was close throughout, with the score tied at halftime (47-47) and after three periods (66-66). Julius Jenkins paced Alba in the closing minutes, going 7 for 8 from the free-throw line down the stretch. Trier went ahead in the last minute on a Marshall Phillips three-point play, but Patrick Femerling corrected Jenkins’s miss at the buzzer to force overtime. Dijon Thompson stood tall in the extra period, with a key block and 2 free throws that put Berlin up 4 and the visitors held on for the win. Jenkins led six Berlin scorers in double figures with 24 points, Femerling added 17, Goran Nikolic 14 and Thompson, Bobby Brown and Immanuel McElroy netted 10 points apiece. Calbe Green paed Trier with 26 points and 9 rebounds. Brose Baskets Bamberg took a step back in the standings, losing 90-94 in overtime at New Yorker Phantoms Braunschweig. It was Bamberg’s second loss in seven days, slipping to 16-8 in the standings. Ademola Okulaja stepped up in the fourth quarter, including making a last second score to cancel Steven Wright’s go-ahead basket to tie the game at 76-76 and force extra time. But in the overtime, triples from Andrew Drevo and Domonic Jones pushed Braunschweig ahead to 84-89 as the visitors secured the win. Drevo paced the winners with 21 points, Wright added 18 and John Allen 17. Okulaja paced Bamberg with 24 points and 9 rebounds and Steffen Hamann recorded 23.

ratiopharm Ulm used a second-period surge to down the Koln 99ers 84-61. Ulm outscored Koln 27-7 in the second 10 minutes, proving to be more than enough for the win. Sean Finn led Ulm with 13 points and 8 rebounds, while Dru Joyce came through with 12 points and 13 assists. Derek Raivio and Milko Bjelica scored 14 points apiece for Koln. digibu Baskets outshined EnBW Ludwigsburg 93-71 on the strength of the middle two periods, in which the hosts outscored the visitors 54-30. Greg Jenkins led digbu with 21 points and 12 rebounds, while Tim Black added 16 points and 5 assists. Ronald Ross scored 17, Vincemt Yarbrough 12 and Coleman Collins 11 for Ludwigsburg. The Deutsche Bank Skyliners used defense to beat Walter Tigers Tubingen 69-54. The Skyliners held Tubingen to 5 points in the second period in building a 38-20 halftime lead that paved the way to victory. Derrick Allen had 21 points and 9 rebounds to lead the Skyliners, Ilian Evitmov posted 14 points and 9 boards and Dominik Bahiense de Mello added 13. Bingo Merriex scored 13 and grabbed 8 rebounds for Tubingen.
