Ovarense Aerosoles and Porto Ferpinta tie atop the Portuguese League standings, each with a 16-3 record. Belenenses Montepio Studio Residence provided the biggest surprise in this round by edging Ovarense 77-83 in Ovar on Saturday. Anderson Ferreira led the winners with 20 points, Diogo Carreira added 19, Ike Nwankwo had 18 while Lance Soderberg pulled down 15 rebounds for Belenenses. Gregory Stempin led Ovarense with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Graham Brown and Cordell Henry each added 14 while Miguel Miranda had 13 for the hosts, that led 77-76 with 50 seconds remaining. Belenenses hit 7-for-8 free throws in the final minute to win the game down the stretch. Meanwhile, Porto thrashed CAB Madeira 74-56 at home behind 21 points from Nuno Marcal and 19 from Julian Terrell. Vagos Lusavouga Dewalt improved to 10-9 by edging Barreirense 80-82 with 21 points from Ricardo Hill. Deforrest Riley-Smith had 35 points for Barreirense while Darrell Harris added 25 and 19 rebounds. Last but not least, Casino Figueira Ginasio topped Lusitania Angra PM 63-65 on a game-winning triple by Nuno Sousa.
