Nothing changed atop the Romanian League standings, as CSU Asesoft Ploiesti improved to 22-2 by thrashing BC Targoviste 85-67 at home on Saturday. Levente Szijarto paced the winners with 20 points. Bojan Obradovic added 15 and 8 rebounds, Arvydas Cepulis had 13 points, Adrian Blidaru got 12 while Virgil Carutasu posted a double-double of 11 points and 18 rebounds for Ploiesti, that led 58-55 after 30 minutes. Carutasu and Obradovic took over in the fourth quarter to make Asesoft seal the outcome long before the final buzzer. Atlassib Sibiu dropped to 19-5 but stayed second despite a 77-74 road loss against CSM Leonardo Oradea. Mobitelco Cluj-Napoca moved up to 17-7 by getting a valuable 78-80 road win against Dinamo - Gealan Bucuresti. In other games, CS Otopeni thrashed CSU Cuadripol Municipal Brasov 116-89, Targu Mures edged Ramnicu Valcea 97-100, Gaz Metan Medias downed Barges Pitesti 71-90 while Elba Timisoara topped Rapid Dromeas Bucuresti 91-90.
