The Oberwart Gunners shot themselves into first place by beating the previous leader, BSC Raiffeisen Furstenfeld, 85-89 in overtime on Monday. Both teams have 24-9 records, but the Gunners sit in first due to a tiebreaker. The Panthers looked to have the game wrapped up after building a 52-35 halftime lead, but then Shelton Colwell went out with an injury and Milan Goljovic picked up his fourth foul. The visitors took advantage and used a 0-10 run to get back in the game and eventually Marko Moric forced overtime with an offensive rebound and basket to tie it at 70-70. In the extra period, Jay Youngblood stood up and pushed the Gunners to the big win. Youngblood finished with 21 points and Moric added 20 for Oberwart, which hosts defending champion Allianz Swans Gmunden next. Colwell led Oberwart with 23. The third place Swans outscored Xion Dukes Klosterneuburg 30-15 in the first period en route to a 97-83 win as it remained a win behind the leaders. Deteri Mayes scored 25 and three players added double-doubles for Gmunden: Kevin Johnson posted 19 points and 12 rebounds, Ian Boylan recorded 18 points and 10 assists and Rashard Sullivan tallied 12 points and 10 boards for the winners. In other games, Arkadia Traiskirchen beat struggling Kapfenberg Bulls 80-87 and UBC St. Polten topped WBC Kraftwerk Wels 95-91.
