Player to Watch: Dejan Milojevic
|
On a team full of big names and talent, Dejan Milojevic remains one of the most consistent contributors and is a big reason that Pamesa Valencia can think about becoming the first team to win the ULEB Cup twice. Milojevic, 30, has had a brilliant career both in terms of personal and team success since he arrived on the scene a decade ago. Milojevic has won European Championships with Serbia at the junior and senior levels, has won the domestic title in his native country three times and has been named the MVP of both the Serbian League and the finals. He became familiar to Euroleague fans as a one-man wrecking crew for Partizan Belgrade for two seasons between 2004 and 2006, leading Europe’s top club competition in index and rebounds and placing third in points in his second season. Milojevic has needed to carry less weight at Pamesa, but nevertheless has shined by leading the team in rebounding and field goal shooting percentage and ranking among the best three in scoring, assists, steals and blocks. With the spotlight on other sometimes-flashier players, don’t be surprised to see Milojevic steal the show when it matters most at the Final Eight in Torino.
