Player to Watch: Sergey Bykov
Sergey Bykov - Dynamo MoscowSergey Bykov has at last established himself as a serious rotation player after years of waiting in the wings. Bykov, 25, is in his sixth season with the club – not counting a season away on loan – since he signed on as a promising teenager and this year he set European club competition career-highs in nearly every statistical category, becoming the only Dynamo reserve to average double figures in points. Despite his age, the guard is also among the most experienced and decorated players in the ULEB Cup. Bykov is a reigning European national champion with Russia and won the 2006 ULEB Cup with Dynamo. He got his first taste of Euroleague Basketball last season as well. While it was his flexibility and his potential that helped him tag along on those rides, at the Final Eight in Turin, Bykov hopes to add some more hardware to his collection, this time as a key player for Dynamo. His excellent three-point shooting, great court-vision and passing skills are all tools that Bykov has and can again use to quickly change the momentum of a game, so his opponents in the Final Eight had better beware when they see Bykov stripping up his warmups to check in.
