Lukoil Academic stayed undefeated in the Bulgarian League and improved to 28-0 by downing Yambol 106-92 in Sofia on Wednesday. Willie Deane led the winners with 33 points on 6-for-9 three-pointers and 8 assists. Todor Stoykov added 22 on 4-for-4 three-pointers, Chavdar Kostov had 19 on 5-for-5 from downtown, Nenad Canak got 17 while Larry O'Bannon contributed 13 for Lukoil, that buried 19-for-26 shots from beyond the arc and led 46-45 at halftime. A rain of three-pointers allowed Lukoil to seal the outcome long before the final buzzer despite playing without star forward Pero Antic. Vadim Reka had 23 points and 13 rebounds for Yambol. Rilski Sportist showed its power by edging CSKA 91-92 in Sofia also on Wednesday behind 22 points from Santos Martinez. In other games, Balkan edged Cherno More Eurohold 94-93 with 22 points from Boban Bilbija while Levski thrashed Spartak Pleven 68-92.
