Croatian League, second phase, Game 1: April 1-2, 2008
Corey Brewer - Zadar The Croatian League second phase started with a major statement, as Zadar showed its power by downing Cibona 96-106 in overtime in Zagreb. Corey Brewer led the winners with 28 points on 13-for-14 free throws. Juby Johnson added 27, Todor Gecevski had 15, Pankracije Barac got 13 while Rok Stipcevic contributed 10 for Zadar. Chris Warren had 28 points for Cibona, Sam Hoskin added 18 while Vedran Vukusic had 11 for Cibona, that trailed 64-73 after three quarters. Warren and Vedran Princ fueled the hosts' comeback, while a layup by Hoskin tied it at 82-82. Brewer made free throws for Zadar but a jumper by Warren sent the game to overtime, 84-84. Cibona did not take the lead in the extra period, but a layup by Marin Rozic tied it at 91-91. Barac had 7 points in a 2-10 run that broke the game open and allowed Zadar to grab an important road win. Split opened the second phase with a 100-93 home win against Dubrava behind 19 points from Dejan Ivanov and 17 from Marlon Garnett. Meanwhile, Zagreb topped Cedevita 76-88 with 21 points each from Mario Dundovic and Krunoslav Simon while Sibenik defeated Svjetlost Brod 103-87 behind 26 points from Luka Drezga.
