Atlas Stal Ostrow Wlkp. took a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series by thrashing Gornik Walbrzych 87-63 at home in Game 1 on Wednesday. Dawid Przybyszewski paced the winners with 26 points while Wojciech Szawarski added 17 for Ostrow, that broke the game open early in the fourth quarter. Energa Czarni Slupsk stole the home home court advantage by edging Polpak S.A. Swiecie 74-80 behind 20 points from Aleksander Kudriawcew. Michael Andersen added 16 points and 11 rebounds for Czarni, that rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit to win the game. AZS Koszalin thrashed SPEC Polonia Warszawa 95-74 with 20 points from D.J. Thompson and 19 from George Reese while Kotwica Kolobrzeg needed overtime to edge Bank BPS Basket Kwidzyn 80-83. Sefton Barrett led the winners with 18 points.
