It was business as usual for perennial champion Lukoil Academic in the penultimate game of the Bulgarian League regular season Saturday with a 75-96 road win at Spartak Pleven. Pero Antic recorded a double-double as six Academic scorers were in double figures and the team remained undefeated this season. Antic finished with 20 points and 11 rebounds, Todor Stoykov added 17 points, Willie Deane scored 16, Riste Stefanov and Nenad Canak added 15 each and Larry O’Bannon netted 13. Hrisimir Dimitrov had 21 to lead Pleven, which led 21-20 after 10 minutes, but was taken out of the game by halftime. In other action. Second-place Balkan bested CSKA 87-77 thanks to 23 points and 12 rebounds from Atanas Radev, Levski crushed Rilski Sportist 104-75 and Cherno More Eurohold needed overtime before prevailing 108-105 over Yambol.
