 The battle atop the Latvian League standings is hotter than ever with three teams within one win of each other for first place. Barons/LMT romped past Keizarmezs 107-63 to match idle Ventspils for first place at 12-2. Armands Skele led five Barons scorers in double figures with 19 and Michal Hlebowicki added 16 points and 11 rebounds. Meanwhile defending champion ASK Riga added a pair of wins to improve to 11-3. ASK blasted Keizarmezs 106-66 on Monday as Ratif Grafs, Sandis Valters and Aerick Sanders scored 18 points apiece and Dairis Bertans added 14. The on Saturday, ASK needed overtime to beat Liepaja on the road 75-83 as Grafs and Valters scored 17 each and Dwayne Broyles had 14. In other games, VEF was the hot side by picking up a pair of road wins, first over Valmiera 85-94 and then at Keizarmezs 76-82.
