French League, Game 26: April 18-19, 2008
Chevon Troutman - Asvel Basket Le Mans Sarthe Basket stayed atop the French League standings despite not playing this weekend. Le Mans had beaten Clermont 82-73 in an advanced game from this round on March 5. Asvel Basket stayed second at 18-8. Chevon Troutman paced the winners with 28 points on 9-for-11 two-pointers while Lamayn Wilson added 18 points for Asvel. Chorale Roanne downed Nancy 81-74 at home on Saturday in the most interesting game this weekend. Both teams tie for third place at 17-9. Marc Salyers led the winners with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Pape Badiane added 16 points while Michael Bauer led Nancy with 20. Pau-Orthez went down to 11-15 due to a 91-95 home loss against Cholet Basket despite 25 points from Antonio Graves. Strasbourg went down to 12-14 because of a 95-84 road loss against Hyeres-Toulon while Elan Chalon registered a 66-48 road loss against Orleans to go down to 10-15. In other games, Le Havre beat Paris 98-88 while Gravelines topped Dijon 88-82 behind 28 points from Jerome Schmitt.

Asvel Basket improved to 18-8 and stayed second by thrashing Vichy 90-67 at home on Friday. Troutman paced the winners with 28 points on 9-for-11 two-pointers. Wilson added 18 points while Uche Nsonwu had 12 for Asvel. Robert Conley and Aymeric Jeanneau led Asvel to a 29-14 lead after 10 minutes while Wilson boosted the hosts' margin to 55-35 at halftime. Buchy did not recover, as Asvel kept a double-digit lead all the way until the final buzzer. Chorale Roanne downed Nancy 81-74 at home on Saturday. Both teams tie for third place at 17-9. Salyers led the winners with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Badiane added 16 points, Adam Hess had 14, Derrick Byars 13 and Pierric Poupet 12. Bauer had 20 points for Nancy, Jeff Greer added 13 while Ricardo Greer got 12. Roanne led 40-35 at halftime while Salyers and Badiane boosted the hosts' margin to 64-50. Nancy got within 79-74 with under 2 minutes to go but the guests never got closer.

Pau-Orthez went down to 11-15 due to a 91-95 home loss against Cholet Basket. Nando De Colo led the winners with 25 points. Graves had 25 points for Pau, Jeff Trepagnier and Ludovic Vaty each added 12 while Max Stanic got 10 for Pau, that trailed 74-87 with 3 minutes to go but could not succesfully complete a wild rally in crunch time. Strasbourg went down to 12-14 because of a 95-84 road loss against Hyeres-Toulon. Austin Nichols paced the winners with 26 points. Rob Lewin had 21 points for Strasbourg, John McCord added 16, Eddie Shannon got 13 while Afik Nissim contributed 12 for the guests, that trailed 83-65 after 30 minutes and never recovered. Elan Chalon dropped to 10-15 due to a 66-48 road loss against Orleans. Benjamin Dewar had 23 points for Orleans. Jermaine Guice led Chalon with 13.
