Romanian League Quarterfinals, Game 2: April 20, 2008

CSU Asesoft Ploiesti and CSU Atlassib Sibiu became the first two teams to advance to the Romanian League semifinals by sweeping their respective best-of-three quarterfinal playoff series. Asesoft downed BC Mures 77-89 to win the quarterfinal series 2-0. Arvydas Cepulis paced the winners with 21 points. Bojan Obradovic posted a double-double of 20 points and 16 rebounds, De'Angelo Alexander also had 20 points while Rashard Griffith scored 14 points and pulled down 10 boards for another double-double. J.J. Cooley had 28 points for Mures, that trailed 49-53 after three quarters. Griffith and Obradovic dominated the boards in the fourth quarter to seal the outcome of the series. CSU Atlassib Sibiu also reached the next round by topping CS Dinamo - Gealan Bucuresti 77-89. Meanwhile, CS Gaz Metan Medias survived a do-or-die situation by beating U Mobitelco Cluj-Napoca 89-70 at home. Tudor Dumitrescu led Medias with 27 points, Zeljko Bubanja added 20 while Miljan Marjanovic added 19. Elba Timisoara also tied its quarterfinal series at 1-1 by defeating CS Rapid Dromeas Bucuresti 86-71.
