Romanian League Quarterfinals, Game 3: April 24, 2008

CS Rapid Dromeas Bucuresti and U Mobitelco Cluj-Napoca survived respective do-or-die battles to advance to the Romanian League semifinals. Rapid downed BCM Elba Timisoara 88-71 in Game 3 of the best-of-three quarterfinal playoff series. Bogdan Popescu paced the winners with 36 points. Adrian Voinescu and Ivan Stefanovic added 14 points apiece for Rapid. Brice Kabengele led Timisoara with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Rapid is now set to face defending champion and heavy favourite CSU Asesoft Ploiesti in the semifinals. Meanwhile, U Mobitelco topped CS Gaz Metan Medias 91-82 to stay alive in the title race. Zoran Krstanovic led the winners with 24 points, Levar Seals added 17 while Branko Cuis had 16 for U Mobiltelco, that led 68-53 after 30 minutes. Kenny Grant had 28 points for Gaz Metan. U Mobiltelco is now set to face CSU Atlassib Sibiu in the semifinals, that start on May 3.
