French League, Game 27: April 26-27, 2008
Sam Clancy - Le Mans Le Mans got closer to become the French League regular season champion and improved to 20-7 by downing Paris 79-83 in overtime in the French capital on Saturday. Sam Clancy led the winners with 20 points and 9 rebounds, playing a major role in the extra period. Sluc Nancy showed its power by thrashing Asvel Basket 96-76 at home on Friday. Both teams join a three-way tie with Chorale Roanne for the second spot at 18-9. Ricardo Greer paced the winners with 22 points. Roanne did not miss scoring ace Brion Rush and overwhelmed Clermont 69-107 on the road on Saturday behind 24 points from Alphonso Ford Top Scoring trophy winner Marc Salyers. Pau-Orthez moved up to 12-15 by edging Dijon 74-77 on the road on Saturday with 19 points from Antonio Graves. Strasbourg went down to 12-15 due to a 66-67 home loss against Orleans on a game-winning triple by Dustin Salisbery. Meanwhile, Elan Chalon moved down to 10-16 because of a 68-85 road loss against Le Havre. In other games, Hyeres-Toulon downed Gravelines-Dunkerque 96-81 while Vichy topped Cholet 80-73.

Kimani Ffriend had 21 points and 10 rebounds for Paris, that rallied from a 14-point halftime deficit to force overtime with a dunk by Taj Gray, 72-72. Salyers led the winners with 24 points. Pierric Poupet added 20, Adam Hess had 17, Raphael Wilson 11 and Derrick Byars 10 for Roanne, that was without Rush but registered a massive road win.

Pau-Orthez moved up to 12-15 by edging Dijon 74-77 on the road on Saturday. Graves led the way for Pau with 19 points. Antywane Robinson added 16, Deji Akindele posted a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds while Antoine Mendy got 12 points for the winners, that trailed 57-55 late in the third quarter. Graves took over in a 2-12 run that put Pau ahead for good, as even when Dijon had the chance to tie, Damir Krupalija missed a three-point shot in the final seconds. Strasbourg went down to 12-15 due to a 66-67 home loss against Orleans. Aldo Curti and Salisbery led Orleans each with 15 points. Kevin Houston had 11 points for Strasbourg while Rob Lewin and John McCord each added 10. It all came down to the final seconds, as free throws by Eddie Shannon gave Strasbourg a 66-64 edge. Salisbury nailed the game-winning triple to make Orleans escape with a big win. Elan Chalon moved down to 10-16 because of a 68-85 road loss against Le Havre. Ali Traore paced the winners with 27 points on 13-for-15 two-pointers. Rowan Barrett had 16 points for Chalon while Darrel Mitchell added 13. Traore had 9 points early in the fourth quarter to break the game open.
