Dutch League playoffs, Quarterfinals, Game 1: April 24, 2008

Regular season champion MyGuide Amsterdam and defending champion EiffelTowers Den Bosch started the Dutch League playoffs on the right foot Thursday with road wins in Game 1 of their best-of-three quarterfinals, while the Rotterdam Challengers and Hanzevast Capitals were the two lower seeds to start with victories. The EiffelTowers outscored Landstede 35-53 in the middle two periods to take control of Game 1 en route to an 80-92 victory. Darrell Tucker paced EiffelTowers with 21 points, Damone Brown added 11 points and 9 rebounds and Dean Oliver had 10 points and 8 assists, while Nate Lufkin led Landstede with 20 in defeat. Amsterdam came out on top 66-72 after a back-and-forth battle against Upstairs Weert. MyGuide controlled the first and third quarter, which was enough even tough Weert took the second period 25-10. Teddy Gipson scored 24 to lead Amsterdam. Weert got 20 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists from Ashley Champion in defeat. Meanwhile Hanzevast edged Matrixx Magixx 71-67 behind 17 points from Guido Grunheid and Rotterdam bested the West Brabant Giants 76-69 as Chaz Briggs posted 14 points and 15 rebounds.
