Polish League playoffs, Semifinals, Games 1: April 27-28, 2008
Milan Gurovic - Prokom Trefl PGE Turow Zgorzelec and defending champion Prokom Trefl Sopot took the next steps towards booking spots in the Polish League finals with wins in the semifinal openers. Zgorzelec defeated ASCO Slask Wroclaw 67-56 on Sunday and Prokom dumped Polpak Swiecie 88-66 on Monday. For Turow, the beginning of the game belonged to guests, who started 2-10 and later led 11-18. Turow, thanks to good defense, slowly but surely clawed its way back before taking full control. Thomas Kelati led Turos with 15 points and David Logan came back after an injury to score 10. Rashid Atkins and Dawan Robinson scored 13 each for Wroclaw. In the second semifinal, Prokom had no problems beating Polpak. The hosts controlled the game from the beginning till the end. Only in the third quarter was Polpak able to cut the gap to 54-47, but Prokom pulled away to safety shortly thereafter. Milan Gurovic with 18 points was the best scorer in Prokom. Mustafa Shakur added 10 pointsand 6 assists and Filip Dylewicz finished with 10 and 6 rebounds. Bobby Dixon led the losers with 14 points.
