Czech League playoffs, Quarterfinals, Game 3: April 30-May 3, 2008
Defending champion CEZ Basket Nymburk pounded A Plus OHL ZS Brno 116-58 to book the first ticket to the Czech League semifinals. The result was never in doubt after Nymburk won the first two games of the series by a combined 64 points. In Game 3, Nymburk outscored Brno 36-10 in the second period to take a commanding 65-24 halftime lead en route a series sweep. Monte Mack scored 21 to paced seven Nymburk scorers in double figures. Radoslav Rancik posted a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds, Arthur Lee scored 18 and dished 6 assists, Pavel Benes and Blake Schilb added 12 points apiece and Petr Benda and Ales Chan had 10 each. Michal Norwa led Brno with 26. Meanwhile Rico Grier’s buzzer-beating three at the end of overtime lifted BK Decín over BK Synthesia Pardubice 85-83. Lukas Kraus netted 18 points and 9 rebounds, while Grier added 14 for Decin. Kamaldin Gamma, who forced overtime with a basket at the end of regulation, led Pardubice with 31 points and 10 rebounds. In other games, Joseph Chapman scored 18 points in 22 minutes as Geofin Novy Jicín blasted USK Praha 95-64 and BK Prostejov bested NH Ostrava 83-77 thanks to 23 points and 6 assists from Rahsaan Ames.
