Latvian League playoffs, Semifinals, Game 3: May 7, 2008

Barons/LMT Riga clinched the first spot in the Latvian League finals by sweeping its best-of-five semifinals series, while Ventspils remained alive by taking a game from defending champion ASK Riga. Ventspils bested Riga 70-68 in Game 3 behind 24 points and 8 rebounds from Justin Love for its first win of the series. The home team led by 2 at halftime and that remained the margin over the final 20 minutes. Uvis Helmanis added 11 and Akselis Vairogs 10 points, while Gerry McNamara dished 8 assists. Sandis Valters paced Riga with 15 and A.J. Bramlett added 14 points and 8 rebounds. Game 4 is set for Thursday. Meanwhile Barons blasted VEF 102-83 to wrap up that series. The hosts built a double-digit lead in the first period and led 60-36 by halftime en route to the win. Armands Skele led the Barons with 26 points and Kaspars Berzins scored 17. Maris Gulbis scored 16 in the season finale for VEF.
