Ukrainian League playoffs, Semifinals, Game 3: May 7, 2008
Artur Drozdov (Photo: BC Kyiv) BC Kyiv finished its sweep of Politekhnika-Galychyna Lviv in the best-of-five Ukrainian League playoff semifinals, while Azovmash Mariupol bested Khimik Yuzhniy to take a 2-1 series lead. Kyiv beat Politekhnika 67-89 in Game 3, finishing the series with an average margin of victory of 31.3 points per game. The game was still relatively close heading into the fourth quarter before Kyiv closed the game and series with a 6-22 charge. Ryan Stack led Kyiv with 16 points, Artur Drozdov and Marcus Faison added 15 apiece, Marko Maravic had 11 and Pooh Jeter scored 8 and dished 7 assists for the winners, who dominated the glass 25-40. Volodymyr Gurtovyi had a game-high 19 points for Politekhnika. Azovmash beat Khimik Yuzhniy75-89 on the road in Game 3 to win its second straight after a Game 1 loss. Tomas Delininkaitis scored 17 for the winners, Yahor Meshcharakou added 16 and Tyus Edney and Gerrod Henderson had 14 apiece for Mariupol. Jarrius Jackson went 5 for 6 from downtown for 24 points for Khimik. Game 4 is set for Friday night.
