Austrian League playoffs, Semifinals, Game 2: May 3, 2008
The Oberwart Gunners moved within one win of the Austrian League finals, while BSC Raiffeisen Furstenfeld evened its semifinals series with Allianz Swans Gmunden on Saturday. Oberwart out-gunned the Kapfenberg Bulls 46-33 in the middle two periods to take control of the game for a 2-0 series lead. Jasmon Youngblood drilled 7 triples and finished with 33 points and 5 assists, while Jason Johnson and Marko Moric added 17 points apiece for the top seeds. Shawn L. Ray posted 32 points and 10 rebounds for the Bulls in defeat. Furstenfeld set the tone early with a 34-24 opening period and cruised much of the way before holding off a late Gmunden charge for a 102-99 victory. Samo Grum led Furstenfeld with 27 points and 7 assists and Anthony Shavies and Miljan Goljovic added 21 points each. Ian Boylan scored 29 points and dished 7 assists for the Swans, Deteri Mayes added 27 points and Kevin Johnson posted 21 points and 8 boards. Game 3 is set for Monday.
