Polish League playoffs, Semifinals, Game 2: April 29-30, 2008
The Polish League playoff semifinals are knotted at 1-1 after two games as both ASCO Slask Wroclaw and Polpak S.A. Swiecie bounced back from Game 1 losses to make things interesting. Slask outlasted regular-season champion PGE Turow Zgorzelec 72-78 as Dominik Tomczyk led five Wroclaw scorers in double figures with 16. Slask outscored Turow by 10 in the second period to take a 27-39 halftime lead, byt Turow stormed back in the third to stay in the game. However Wroclaw's balanced attack proved to be too much in the fourth quarter. Rashid Atkins scored 15 and dished 6 assists, Dawan Robnson also scored 15, Pawel Mroz added 12 and Oliver Stenic posted posted 10 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. David Logna paced Turow with 18, Dragisa Drobnjak added 16, Iwo Kitzinger 13 and Thomas Kelati and Robert Witka had 11 each. Polpak topped defending champion Prokom Trefl Sopot 81-93 on the strength of a 13-29 fourth quarter. Polpak built a double-digit first-quarter lead and led 38-46 at halftime, but Prokom charged ahead with a big third period. Polpak withstood the blow and countered in the last 10 minutes to register the win. Nikola Lepojevic led Polpak with 31 points, Bobby Dixon added 18, Chris Garner 14 and Eric Hicks posted 12 points and 9 rebounds. Donatas Slanina shined with 32 in defeat for Prokom and Milan Gurovic added 19.
