Ukrainian League Semifinals, Game 4: May 9, 2008
Yahor Meshcharakou - Azovmash Mariupol Khimik stayed alive in the Ukrainian League semifinals by downing Azovmash Mariupol 79-70 at home in Game 4 of the best-of-five series on Friday. Series is tied at 2-2 but Azovmash hosts Game 5 in Mariupol on Monday. The winner of that game will face BC Kyiv in the best-of-five final playoff series. Wykeen Kelly paced the winners with 18 points while Oleksandr Kolchenko, Andriy Agafonov and Jarrius Jackson each had 13 for Khimik. Robert Archibald, Tomas Delininkaitis and Yahor Meshcharakou each had 12 points for Azovmash while Panagiotis Liadelis added 10 for the guests, that trailed 31-28 at halftime. Gerrod Henderson gave Azovmash its last lead, 37-39, midway through the third quarter. A 14-4 run that Sasa Bratic capped with a triple put Khimik ahead for good, 51-43. Azovmash did not recover, allowing Khimik to cruise to a well-deserved win.
