Montepaschi Siena held on down the stretch to edge Upim Bologna 69-72 on the road to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five Italian League quarterfinals. Upim started to close the gap late in the third quarter and then got to 67-68 with three minutes remaining, but Montepaschi didn’t crack and free throws by Shaun Stonerook and Ksistof Lavrinovic helped Montepaschi ensure the win.
