Slovenian League Playoffs, Semifinals, Game 1: May 17, 2008

The Slovenian League playoffs tipped off with no surprises as perennial power Union Olimpija and defending champion Helios Domzale both won their openers on Saturday. Olimpija beat Zlatorog Lasko 82-76, while Domzale blasted Krka 94-76. Team captain Mako Milic posted 21 points and 14 rebounds to lead Olimpija, which outrebounded Lasko 33-23. Lasko held on and led by 1 heading into the fourth quarter, but the hosts took control down the stretch. Ronnie Taylor added 16 points, Hasan Rizvic 11 and Maurice Bailey 10 for the winners. Chester Mason paced Lasko with 17. Domzale trailed early against Krka, but dominated the middle two periods 50-32 to cruise to a Game 1 win. Robert Troha netted 23 and Ziga Zagorc had 14 for Domzale. Davor Marcelic had 27 for Krka in a losing effort.
