Greek League, Playoffs, Semifinals, Game 4: May 18, 2008
Maroussi came up big at home to edge Olympiacos 86-75 in Game 4 of the Greek League semifinals and tie the best-of five series at 2-2, forcing a deciding Game-5 that will be held on Wednesday at the Peace and Friendship Stadium. The hosts took advantage of the lack of defensive spirit of their opponents and scored easily to take an early lead and build on it. At the end of the first half, Maroussi was ahead 45-39 and the margin soared up to 69-52 after 28 minutes of play. Then Olympiacos wok up and a 0-11 run cut the gap to 6, but the hosts proved themselves and answered with their own 10-0 run. The Reds cut again the deficit to 79-71, but Maroussi didn’t panic and sealed the victory and the opportunity to fight in Game 5 not only for a spot in the finals, but potentially a ticket to the Euroleague as well. Jarod Stevenson and Branko Milisavlievic scored 21 points apiece and Kostas Kaimakoglou added 14 points and 5 assists for the winners. For Olympiacos Lynn Greer netted 17 points and Rod Blakney and Ioannis Bouroussis scored 11 points apiece.
