Azovmash Mariupol bounced back from a loss in Game 1 of the Ukrainian League Finals by beating BC Kyiv 76-81 in Game 2. The defending champions took control with a 12-29 opening period and coasted from that point. The lead reached 21 points after three periods, however against the odds, Kyiv battled back and outscored the visitors 27-11 in the fourth quarter. Still it wasn’t enough to climb out of the hole they had dug and Azovmash walked away with the series-tying win. Rodney Buford led Azovmash with 16 points and 5 assists, Tyus Edney and Panagiotis Liadellis added 15 points apiece and Yahor Meshcharakou had 14 points and 8 rebounds. Manuchar Markoishvili paced Kyiv with 23 points, Marcus Faison scored 21 and Artur Drozdov 17. Game 3 is set for Thursday in Mariupol.
