whoCEZ Basket Nymburk stayed on course for its fifth straight Czech League crown by beating BK Synthesia Pardubice 90-74 Tuesday in Game 3 to sweep its semifinal series and book a spot in the finals. Now the four-time defending champs will await to learn their opponents from the other series, where Geofin Novy Jicín holds a 2-1 lead over BK Prostejov after recording a 92-82 win in Game 3 on Wednesday. Novy Jicín will have a chance to book a spot in the finals on Saturday in Game 4. Nymburk worked harder than ever for its Game 3 win. Head coach Muli Katzurin's men trailed early, were down 12-19 after one of their worst opening periods all season and 33-34 by halftime. Even heading into the last period Nymburk led by just 3, but a 29-16 fourth period earned them the win. Radoslav Rancik led the way with 26 points and 9 rebounds, Ladislav Sokolovsky added 13 and 7, Arthur Lee scored 12 and dished 7 assists and Pavel Benes and Blake Schlib netted 11 each. Stefan Svitek led Pardubice with 18. In Game 3 of the other series, Joseph Chapman led Novy Jicín with 22 points and Kenneth Walker posted 18 points and 11 rebounds. Rahsaan Ames recorded a triple-double with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, but it was not enough to save Prostejov.
