Turk Telekom joined defending champion Fenerbahce Ulker in the Turkish League finals after beating regular season champion Besiktas ColaTurka 3-1 in the best-of-five semifinals. Telekom won Game 3 of the series – the series started with a 1-0 lead for Telekom after sweeping Besiktas in the regular season – 75-71 behind A balanced team effort that saw Erwin Dudley post 18 points and 7 rebounds and Khalid El-Amin record 17 points and 5 assists. Telekom led by double figures at one point in the third quarter, but Rick Apodaca shot Besiktas back into the game. However Telekom held onto the lead even after Apodaca and Kaya Peker made it 67-65 midway through the fourth quarter and despite the best efforts of Sandro Nicevic and Preston Shumpert, Besiktas couldn’t stop Dudley and Chris Williams as Telekom held on for the win. Accordingly Telekom eliminated the regular-season champs in Besiktas, but it was also in first place for a large chunk of the regular season before injuries caused a late-season slide. Bekir Yarangume added 14 points and Kris Lang had 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Peker finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds for Besiktas, which shot just 2 for 18 from beyond the arc. Nicevic also scored 18 and Apodaca 16 in defeat.
