 Azovmash Mariupol is the Ukrainian League champion! Azovmash won its third consecutive Ukrainian League title by edging archrivals BC Kyiv 84-79 to win the best-of-five final series 3-1. Panagiotis Liadelis paced the winners with 22 points on 6-for-9 two-pointers, 2-for-2 triples and 4-for-4 free throws. Robert Archibald added 19 on 6-for-7 two-pointers, Tomas Delininkaitis had 15, Yahor Meshcharakou got 11 while Rodney Buford pulled down 12 rebounds for Azovmash. Artur Drozdov led Kyiv with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Ryan Stack added 14 points, Josh Davis had 11 while Marcus Faison got 10 for the guests. Archibald had 6 points in an 8-0 opening run for Azovmash. Kyiv could not find the way to the basket while a free throw by Remon Van de Hare gave Azovmash a 17-3 margin after 7 minutes. Kyiv got its deficit to 24-13 after 10 minutes and then again to 39-34 right before halftime. Meshcharakou, Liadelis and Archibald stepped up after the break to keep Azovmash ahead, as Drozdov only got Kyiv within 67-59 after 30 minutes. It was do-or-die time for the guests and a free throw by Drozdov made it a two-point game, 78-76, with 2 minutes to go. Delininkaitis made free throws and soon added a three-pointer that allowed Azovmash to celebrate yet another Ukrainian League title!
