Dutch League Finals, Game 4: May 24, 2008
Kees Akerboom - EiffelTowers EiffelTowers Den Bosch bounced back from its last loss in the best-of-seven Dutch League finals by thrashing MyGuide Amsterdam 79-63 at home in Game 4 on Saturday. Series is tied at 2-2 but MyGuide has the home court advantage, as it hosts Game 5 and would get back to Amsterdam to play do-or-die Game 7 if both teams trade wins in the next two showdowns. Kees Akerboom paced the winners with 19 points. Robert Owens added 17, Travis Young had 15 while Damone Brown got 14 for EiffelTowers, the defending Dutch League champion. Tamien Trent had 21 points for Amsterdam, Jeron Roberts added 14 while Peter van Paassen got 10 for MyGuide. Young and an outstanding Akerboom rolled in the first quarter, helping EiffelTowers to get a 24-13 margin after 10 minutes. Back-to-back triples by Young broke the game open, 33-17, midway through the second quarter. The hosts' lead peaked at 40-22 once Dean Oliver struck from downtown. Amsterdam cut its deficit to 47-34 at halftime and then again to 59-50 late in the third quarter, but Owens and Brown stepped up to make EiffelTowers seal the outcome long before the final buzzer.
