Travis Young was the hero Tuesday as EiffelTowers Den Bosch beat MyGuide Amsterdam on the road 77-79 in overtime to take a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven Dutch League Finals. Young sank 3 free throws at the end of regulation to tie the score at 63-63 and force overtime and then hit the game-winner in the final seconds to give his team the first road win of the series. The defending champs will now try to win on the road Thursday to stay alive and force a Game 7 back in Amsterdam. The hosts needed to come back after EiffelTowers built a surprising 24-36 halftime lead and did so to go up by 5 at the end of the third period. But the Den Bosch defense rose to the occasion once more and held Amsterdam to 12 fourth-quarter points as Young stood up and did his job to force overtime. Both teams offenses awoke in the extra period and after Sheiku Kabba hit a triple for his only points of the game to tie the score at 77-77, it looked as though a second overtime was on the horizon. However Young had other ides and sank the game-winner with a second to go. Young finished with 13 points, while Dean Oliver paced EiffelTowers with 15 and Darrell Tucker and Kees Akerboom Jr. added 12 each. Teddy Gipson posted 13 points, 9 rebounds and 5 steals for Amsterdam, which suffered from an abysmal shooting night: 3 for 32 (9.4%) from downtown and 10 for 24 (41.7%) from the line. Jeron Robers, Avis Wyatt and Tamien Trent all also scored 12 each.
