|
Split Croatia osiguranje evened up the best-of-five Croatian League Finals at 1-1 with an 81-77 home win over Zadar. After losing the series opener by 24 points just 48 hours earlier, Split got big nights from the trio of Marlon Garnett, Andrija Stipanovic and Hrvoje Peric to secure the victory. The hosts did not have the best shooting night, going just 5 for 24 (20.8%) from downtown, but forced Zadar into 19 turnover, while committing only 8 of their own. The game was sloe throughout, with Split leading 41-37 at halftime and 60-51 after three periods. Zadar came back in the fourth, but did not have enough steam to win. Garnett scored 20 to pace Split, Stipanovic added 18 and 8 rebounds and Peric netted 17. Juby Johnson led Zadar with 21 points, while Todor Gecevski, Corey Brewer and Rok Stipcevic had 11 each in defeat.
