Polish League Finals, Game 6: May 31, 2008
Andres Rodriguez - PGE Turow PGE Turow Zgorzelec forced a seventh and deciding game in the Polish League Finals by beating defending champion Prokom Trefl Sopot 69-74 on the road on Saturday. Turow will now host Game 7 of the best-of-seven series hoping to end Prokom’s four-year reign and win its first ever Polish championship. Game 6 was an even affair, with neither team ever leading by double figures at any point. In the last minute, Turow was ahead by 7 points and Prokom tried to cut the gap by stopping the clock and committing fouls. However Turow players Dragisa Drobnjak and Andres Rodrigues were calm from the line and assured the victory for their team. Rodrigues – for the first time all series – was the top scorer for Turow with 21 points plus 5 assists and 5 rebounds. Drobnjak added 19, David Logan had 11 and Tomas Kelati finished with 10. Milan Gurovic, who was back after a suspension for fighting, scored 16 points for Prokom. Igor Milicic added 15 – all from beyond the arc. Filip Dylewicz netted 14 and Donatas Slanina 11.
