 Zalgiris sits atop the Lithuanian League standings with a 8-0 record, while Lietuvos Rytas right behind and also undefeated at 7-0. Both teams aer set to face each other in the next round on December 6. Zalgiris did not find much trouble to edge Aisciai 71-84 on the road on Saturday. Jonas Maciulis led the winners with 21 points. Mantas Kalnietis added 19, Tadas Klimavicius had 12 while Dainius Salenga got 10 for Zalgiris. Klimavicius added 12 boards for a double-double. Zalgiris trailed 67-66 with 4 minutes to go, but Kalnietis had 12 points in a 0-15 run that sealed the outcome. Meanwhile, Lietuvos Rytas thrashed Sakalai 75-105 on the road on Friday, three days before hosting the Eurocup opening game in Vilnius. Chuck Eidson led the winners with 20 points. Milko Bjelica added 16, Matt Nielsen had 12, Marijonas Petravicius got 11 while Mindaugas Lukauskis and Justinas Sinica each contributed 10 for L. Rytas, that already led 64-82 after three quarters. In other games, Techasas topped Kaunas Triobet 82-77, Nevezis beat Suduva 70-76 while Siauliai edged Neptunas 83-93 behind 28 points from Gintaras Kadziulis.
