After the first week of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Playoffs, the two top teams record-wise this season are a victory each away from the Final Four, while two other series are even and headed to at least four games. CSKA Moscow showed its dominance at home again by downing Gescrap BB by 79-60 on Friday to take a 2-0 lead in their best-of-five series. Andrei Kirilenko had a season-high 20 points and 12 rebounds for CSKA, while Milos Teodosic went for 18 points and 9 assists. The other team on the Final Four doorstep is FC Barcelona Regal after sweating out a 66-63 win over visiting Unics Kazan on Thursday to lead their series 2-0. A brilliant Nathan Jawai had Unics tied 61-61 with a minute left, before Kosta Perovic's steal and free throws let Barcelona, led in scoring by Juan Carlos Navarro with 18 points, finish strong. Barcelona will have the change to sweep into the Final Four if it can win in Russia against Unics next Tuesday, and CSKA can do the same against Gescrap in Spain on Wednesday. Two other series are looking more long-term after Maccabi Electra edged Panathinaikos 92-94 in overtime Thursday to even their series at 1-1. After Keith Langford’s desperation shot to win in regulation time was ruled late, David Blu stepped up with tying and go-ahead three-point shots in OT as Maccabi hung on. Rookie Yogev Ohayon starred with 15 points and 5 assists for the winners. The last Game 2 on Friday went down to the final seconds before Montepaschi Siena edged Olympiacos 81-80 thanks to an open-court steal with 3 seconds left by Bo McCalebb, who led his team with 21 points. Georgios Printezis of Olympiacos was crossing halfcourt and looking for a game-winning shot attempt when McCalebb came out of nowhere to steal the ball cleanly. Now, those two teams will play next Wednesday and Friday in Greece. In the meantime, Maccabi will host Panathinaikos in Israel on Tuesday and Thursday.
